Following the guidance of the National Centers for Disease Control for mass gatherings and large community events and in an effort of the well being of all, Market Street Festival organizers have made the decision to postpone the 25th Annual Market Street Festival. The new date for this annual Columbus tradition is September 11 & 12, 2020.
“Our commitment to the city of Columbus and our entire community means ensuring the health and wellbeing of citizens, attendees, artists, volunteers, staff, and vendors,” said Barbara Bigelow, Main Street Columbus Executive Director.
Market Street Festival is the largest special event in the area and serves as the largest fundraiser for Main Street Columbus. One of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for numerous years, the festival boasts over 250 arts, craft and food vendors, dozens of musical acts, countless other activities and hosts an estimated crown in excess of 35,000 each year from over 14 states.
“Market Street Festival is a paramount event in Columbus and produces critical funding to ensure other endeavors of Main Street Columbus throughout the year. Market Street Festival has a significant positive economic impact in our community. To cancel the event would have a significant adverse economic impact not only Main Street Columbus, but to so many businesses, vendors and artists,” said Bigelow.
All vendors, sponsors, participants, and others affiliated with the festival will be contacted and we hope they will be able to accommodate the September date. Deadlines will be extended and plans will continue for a much-anticipated 25th anniversary of the festival. All facets of the festival will continue and vendor space and sponsorships are still available. Details will be updated as soon as possible via social media and at marketstreetfestival.com,” stated Amber Brislin, Market Street Festival Coordinator.
“We value all supporters, vendors, talents, volunteers and sponsors of Market Street Festival and appreciate the understanding of all for this ‘temporary inconvenience for the long-term health and safety of all’.” stated, Shannon Bowen, Main Street Columbus Board President.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as organizers of Market Street Festival continue with planning and encourage everyone to mark their calendars for another fantastic Market Street Festival,” stated Brislin. Originally planned for May 1 & 2, 2020, Columbus’ largest festival has been postponed until
September 11 & 12, 2020.
“In positive as well as challenging times, MSC is committed to quality of life and what is best for our entire community. Please stay safe and healthy as we handle and overcome this situation together,” said Bigelow.

and food vendors as well as dozens of special events, musical acts and activities throughout the festival.
